200 HOUR YOGA THERAPY TEACHER TRAINING​

Yoga therapy offers a holistic approach to yoga, helping those who wish to improve their physical health and state of mind through the use yogic practices and ayurvedic principle such as postures, breathing techniques, mudras, diet, relaxation techniques and meditations amongst others. 

​You will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to work intelligently with clients who are living with health challenges, chronic illness or injury as well as ageingpopulations

Our 200 Hour Yoga Therapy Teacher Training Program* will enable you to:
  • deepen your approach as a yoga teacher, practitioner and therapist
  • delve into more gentle and restorative styles of yoga that can be incorporated into more active classes
  • build your confidence and ability to teach with the use of props
  • expand your range of clients from private to group classes
  • increase the tailor-made types of classes/sessions you can offer
  • look at health from a more holistic perspective
  • develop and explore your own yoga practices suited to your constitution from an Ayurvedic point of view
*On completion the 200 Hour Yoga Therapy Teacher Training Program, student will receive two certificates: one ‘Yoga Therapy’ accredited from Inner Heart Yoga & Holistic Insititute. The second ‘Holistic Yoga with an Ayurvedic approach’ from our status as an RYS® and RYTS®
Our 200hr yoga therapy  teacher training is structured according to the following modules:

  • Morning practice: From 6-8am you will have a chance to experience different therapeutic sequences and techniques during led classes and an opportunity to develop a personal practice that suits your body and needs. You will also explore and develop a sequence specifically for your case study. This is the time to see the practical application of what you have learnt during the theory class. Teachers will always be present to support and make suggestions & adjustments when/if necessary.
 
  • Asana methodology & teaching practice: From 11-1.30pm, asanas (postures) will be explored with emphasis on the modifications of traditional postures using variations and props and their therapeutic benefits. We pride ourselves for preparing our students to be fully competent and confident teachers, able to guide a yoga sequence for a range of classes from the moment they have completed their training. For that reason, you will have a chance every day practice teaching your fellow students under the guidance of our experienced teachers.
 
  • Ayurveda: From 10-11am, you will learn the basic principles of Ayurveda to enable you to make diet and lifestyle recommendations as well as designing an asana practice suitable to one's ayurvedic constitution. 
 
  • Anatomy & Pranayama: From 4.15-5.15pm, a joint module of pranayama (breathing techniques) and yoga based anatomy.  We will combine both theory and practice of the main pranayamas exploring how these techniques physiologically benefit the body and mind. You will also learn how yogic practices affect the main systems of the body in a fun and interactive way. 
 
  • Philosophy: From 5.15pm-6pm, some of the most poignant excerpts of ‘The Yoga Sutras of  Patanjiali’ will be examined and discussed to illustrate how this ancient text is very relevant today as a tool to navigate life with more grace. 
 
  • Meditation: From 6-7pm, each day different meditation techniques will be introduced to you...and on Fridays afternoon sun set meditation by the ocean!
