join us for the upcoming hatha flow yoga Teacher training courses:
August 30 to September 14, 2021
The term ‘hatha yoga’ refers to a wide range of physical practices including asana (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques) and kriyas (cleansing methods). The ultimate aim of these practices is improving the health of our bodies, calming of the mind and stilling of our thoughts to reach a state of harmony with all the seemingly contradictory expressions of life.
The word ‘hatha‘ literally means ‘ force/ with strength‘ most likely indicating the persistent effort of both body and mind required to stay on the yogic path. Ha-tha yoga has also been interpreted as representing the union between the inhale (ha) and the exhale (tha), as well as the marriage of our solar and lunar energies. Many modern styles of yoga (for example kundalini, vinyasa, ashtanga & Iyengar) draw inspiration from the hatha tradition and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, one of the most important hatha texts that we will explore during your training. |
